Lapse
Lapse is an audiovisual about the dual burden of individual health and global politics. The experience of chronic illness coupled with a dysfunctional society is explored through abstract video and appropriated audio.
Artist Statement
Alexander Butler is an Irish artist who works with digital photographic and video-based media. He critically explores matters of health and society, particularly the influence of media and politics.
Biography
Alexander has worked with photography and moving image since 2013 and has grown to focus his work on aspects of chronic illness. Before studying in Limerick School of Art & Design he studied in Westport College of Further Education and where he obtained Level 5 & 6 QQI Certificates in Film and Television Production.
