Rebecca Casey
Integral
Integral is an installation-based work exploring the complex interplay between human nature and technology. Using dreamlike imagery, it seeks to elevate the ordinary spaces we most depend on, but often overlook. Influenced by the work of accelerationist thinker Nick Land, the focus of this project is technological integration, and the tension forming between human desires and technological advancement.
Inwrought with themes of isolation, discontentedness, and pacification this project hopes to act as a catalyst for reflection, confronting the symbiotic, sometimes parasitic relationship we have with the technology we use and the environments we inhabit.
Artist Statement
Rebecca’s work explores themes of comfort and isolation, as they pertain to our environment. Using largely still-life photography to reflect our relationship with our surroundings and each other, her work aims to serve as a catalyst for reflection and introspection.
